Author Guidelines


We welcome submissions of original research articles and conceptual papers that contribute to the fields of literary studies. Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure that your work adheres to the following guidelines to facilitate the review and publication process.

General Requirements

  1. Originality:
    • Manuscripts submitted to Magistra Andalusia must be original and must not have been previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
    • The submitted articles must be free from plagiarism. All submissions will be screened using Turnitin, and manuscripts with a similarity index of 25% or higher will be rejected.
  2. Types of Articles:
    • We accept research articles and conceptual papers. Research articles should present new findings or developments in literary studies, while conceptual papers should provide theoretical insights or innovative ideas in the field.
  3. Length of Articles:
    • Manuscripts should be between 5,500 and 7,500 words, excluding the title, abstract, author details, and references.
    • Articles should be a minimum of 10-15 pages in length, formatted according to the specifications below.
  4. Language:
    • Articles can be written in either English or Bahasa Indonesia.
    • The title and abstract must be provided in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Manuscript Formatting

  1. Document Format:
    • Manuscripts must be prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
    • Use Times New Roman, font size 11, and set the page margins to 3 cm on all sides. The text should be single-spaced.
  2. Title:
    • The title of the article should be concise, informative, and written in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
    • The title in English should be no longer than 12 words, while the title in Bahasa Indonesia should be no longer than 15 words.
  3. Author Information:
    • Directly below the title, include the full names of all authors.
    • Each author’s name should be accompanied by their institutional affiliation, and the corresponding author’s contact details (including email) must be clearly indicated.
    • The corresponding author will be responsible for communication with the journal during the submission, review, and publication process.
  4. Abstract and Keywords:
    • Each manuscript must include an abstract written in both English and Bahasa Indonesia (if the article is written in Bahasa Indonesia).
    • The abstract should be no more than 250 words and should summarize the key objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions of the study.
    • Provide 3-5 keywords at the end of the abstract in both languages to facilitate indexing and searchability.

Manuscript Structure

  1. Introduction:
    • The introduction should provide background information on the research problem, a review of relevant literature (integrated, not in a separate section), and the objectives or hypothesis of the study.
    • The introduction should clearly explain the significance of the research and how it differs from previous studies on the same topic.
  2. Methods:
    • The methods section should describe in detail how the research was conducted, including information on the research subjects/objects, data collection methods, and any instruments or tools used.
    • Do not include theoretical discussions or general concepts. Instead, provide practical details on how the research was implemented.
  3. Results and Discussion:
    • This section should present the findings of the research clearly and logically, supported by appropriate evidence such as tables, figures, images, or maps.
    • The discussion should relate the results to the research objectives, interpret the significance of the findings, and compare them with existing literature.
    • All figures, tables, and other visual aids must be numbered sequentially and provided with clear titles. Ensure they are referenced appropriately in the text.
  4. Conclusion:
    • The conclusion should summarize the key findings and their implications. This section may also provide recommendations for future research or practical applications based on the results.

Reference Style

  1. Referencing:
    • All references must be cited in the text and listed at the end of the manuscript following the American Psychological Association (APA) style.
    • Authors must use reference management tools such as Mendeley or Zotero to format citations and bibliographies.
  2. Primary and Recent References:
    • Wherever possible, use primary sources such as books, articles from peer-reviewed journals, or conference papers. References should be up-to-date and relevant to the topic.
    • Ensure that the references cited are distinguishable from the submitted manuscript both in terms of topic and specific issues.

Submission

  1. Article Submission:
    • Submissions must be made through the journal’s online submission system (if applicable) or via the designated submission email provided on the journal’s website.
  2. Template:
    • Authors are encouraged to use the journal’s article template, which can be downloaded here [provide link].
  3. Submission Checklist:
    • Ensure that your manuscript complies with all the above requirements.
    • Ensure that you have included all required sections (title, abstract, keywords, introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusion, and references).
    • Make sure to include contact details and affiliations for all authors, and check that the corresponding author is clearly indicated.
  4. Revisions:
    • Authors are required to revise their manuscripts based on feedback from reviewers. The revised manuscript must be resubmitted within the specified time frame along with a detailed response to the reviewers' comments.

By adhering to these guidelines, authors will help ensure that the review and publication process proceeds efficiently and smoothly. Manuscripts that do not comply with these guidelines may be returned for revision or rejected. I

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. Articles submitted by Magistra Andalusia template
  2. The manuscript is written in Bahasa or English with single-spaced line density, Times New Roman 12 font, A4 paper size, two-column format, and marginal last costum setting (top 2.54 cm; left 2.8 cm; bottom 2.54 cm; right 2, 54 cm).
  3. The length of the scientific manuscripts should be at least 10-15 pages, including any images, graphics or tables (if any) that accompany it.
  4. The terms of a foreign language or regional language in the text are written in italic.
  5. Incoming script will be selected by the system and will be forwarded to the reviewer in accordance with the field of the article.
  6. The manuscript reviewed by the reviewer will be returned to the author if a review is required by reviewer. After the authors make improvements in accordance with the input and assessment reviewers, re-sent by the author.

All articles published in Magistra Andalusia: Jurnal Ilmu Sastra are protected by copyright, which is held by the journal. As the copyright holder, Magistra Andalusia grants authors and readers broad rights under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license.

Under this license:

  • Authors retain the right to use, share, and distribute their work, including for commercial purposes, as long as proper attribution is given to the original work and the resulting work is distributed under the same or compatible license.
  • Readers are free to read, download, copy, distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the content published in Magistra Andalusia, for any purpose, provided that appropriate credit is given, a link to the license is included, and any changes made are indicated. Furthermore, any derivative works must be distributed under the same license (CC BY-SA).

This license ensures that the published research remains freely accessible and usable by the global scholarly community while promoting transparency, collaboration, and the open dissemination of knowledge.

By submitting their manuscripts, authors agree to these terms and understand that they grant Magistra Andalusia a non-exclusive right to distribute their work under the terms of the CC BY-SA license.

 

Privacy Statement

Magistra Andalusia: Jurnal Ilmu Sastra is committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals involved in the submission, review, and publication process. The personal information collected from authors, reviewers, and readers will only be used for the purposes of journal operations and will not be shared with any third party without explicit consent.

Information We Collect:

  • Authors: When submitting a manuscript, we collect personal information such as names, email addresses, institutional affiliations, and contact details. This information is used solely for communication regarding the manuscript submission, peer review, and publication process.
  • Reviewers: Reviewers' personal details, such as names, email addresses, and institutional affiliations, are collected to facilitate the peer review process and to maintain the integrity and transparency of the review system.
  • Readers: Readers who register with the journal or subscribe to updates may provide their names and email addresses. This information is used to send updates on new issues or content and will never be used for commercial purposes.

Use of Personal Information:

Personal information provided to Magistra Andalusia will be used exclusively for:

  • Communicating with authors, reviewers, and readers regarding submissions and journal-related matters.
  • Managing the peer review process to ensure quality and fairness.
  • Providing notifications about new content, updates, or journal announcements.

Data Security:

We take the security of personal information seriously and employ appropriate measures to safeguard it from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized journal staff and editors, who are required to maintain confidentiality.

By submitting manuscripts, reviewing articles, or registering with Magistra Andalusia, individuals consent to the collection and use of their personal information as described in this privacy statement. Individuals have the right to request access to their personal information or to request corrections or deletions at any time.

Changes to the Privacy Policy:

Magistra Andalusia reserves the right to modify this privacy statement at any time. Any significant changes will be communicated to registered users and published on the journal’s website. Continued use of the journal’s services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
