Analisis Struktur Naratif Vladimir Propp pada Cerita Rakyat Si Bajak Si Kelak Kulit di Desa Simalegi

Oral literature is a form of literature that develops in the traditions of society without the use a medium of writing, but is delivered through verbal communication. Folktale is part of the cultural output of a culture supporting a culture. The folktale of “Si Bajak Si Kelak Kulit” is still spread in Simalegi Village, West Siberut District, Mentawai Island Regency. This study aims to analyze and describe the narrative structure of the story "Si Bajak Si Kelak Kulit" using a structural approach developed by Vladimir Propp. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method of analyzing the perpetrator's function, the structure of the story and pattern, and the distribution of the perpetrator's function in the story "Si Bajak Si Kelak Kulit". Research results show that there are 16 functions out of 31 functions in the narrative structure study developed by Propp, the story's scheme is (α): Z B Z B F E G A C D I K ↓ Pr Ex J N M C U (X) with 3 patterns and there are 4 distributions of perpetrator functions: villain, provider, helper, and hero. This research is expected to serve as a reference in appreciating oral literature.
